The Seven Year Slip | Lemon Poppyseed Donut

Risk-averse Clementine (aka Lemon) walks into her late Aunt’s apartment and finds herself seven years in the past with a handsome stranger cooking in her Aunt’s kitchen. Clementine knows that the last thing she should do is fall in love with a man from the past but the apartment seems to have its own plans, throwing her from past to present spontaneously.

f you’re a foodie and a romantic, this book is for you. I loved all the food elements in this story; a chef MMC, nearly every event taking place around meals in a kitchen or restaurant, chapters with titles like Berried Alive and Main Course of Action, and descriptions such as,

...it took every willful bone in my body not to melt into him like ice cream on the pavement in the summer.”
— The Seven Year Slip

I enjoyed this book as a fun light read, that being said, I prefer a novel in which romance is not the main storyline but if you love romance books, I think you’ll love this one. Thanks @falling_into_romantasy for this adorable book recommendation!

These Lemon Poppy Seed Donuts were inspired by Clementines nickname, Lemon. The donut recipe is very similar to a muffin recipe. If you have a donut pan these treats come together very quickly. Unless, like me, you forget to add sugar and have to remake them.
