Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers | Pork & Chive Dumplings
Vera Wong is nosy and pushy and just the person you want to take care of you when you’re down on your luck.
This was my second time reading this book, and I loved it just as much as the first. If you’re fond of feel good mysteries that are full of humour and heart, you will love Vera and all of her shenanigans.
I would love to be mothered by Vera, to sit at her table and stuff myself full of her delicious food. This woman keeps busy! She is such an endearing character and proves that food is the tastiest love language.
You should definitely not read this book on an empty stomach because it will make you hungry! Vera shows her love through food and the feasts she creates will have you drooling. Since we can’t actually eat Vera’s cooking, I guess we’ll have to settle for making it ourselves.
While Vera makes a spread of dumplings, I settled on just one - pork and chive. They’re time-consuming but very easy to make. And the recipe makes a ton! So your efforts will be worth it, as you can store them in the freezer for easy meals later.
Now that I’ve had the refresher, I can’t wait to read the second book in the series!

I made these Pork and Chive Dumplings from Tiffy Cooks.
Hi I’m Cheri, I’ve been staying up too late reading since I was a kid hiding under the covers with a flashlight.
